Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Air preheater components are exposed to high temperature conditions, typically more than 350oC. GEECO uses Finite Element Analysis to analyze the thermo-mechanical stresses and expansions of air preheater components. The temperature gradient along the height of the air preheater causes rotor turndown resulting in radial air to gas leakage. The rotor turndown can be predicted by FEA which aids in the design and development of efficient seals.
